Improving Oil & Gas Production Efficiency using Data & Analytics – ITF/DataLab Technology Development Workshop
To register for this workshop, please complete the form below. A detailed description of the workshop follows the form.
Improving production efficiency across the UKCS has been a major focus for many operators in recent years. A decline in production efficiency, combined with reduced oil prices, has been damaging to economic outcomes at a company and basin-wide level. Consequently, the drive has been to increase performance across the whole range of planning and operational activities, to deliver efficiency improvements. In this context, advancing the use of relevant data and analytics tools could make a further contribution to driving improvements in efficiency and hence economic performance of assets.
ITF and DataLab have joined forces to execute an initiative designed to drive the development and uptake of data and related analytics tools in the industry as a means of identifying further efficiency opportunities. Specifically, tools to avoid unplanned shutdowns and minimise the impact of planned shutdowns is targeted. The aim is to first inform and inspire industry on the potential of this technology using real world examples of success, before identifying areas where further technology development could make an impact, and bringing those developments to realisation.
As a first step, a workshop will be held to bring together major players from the Oil & Gas industry with innovative organisations from the Data Science community. The objective is to deliver real results to industry via a collaborative approach to technology development utilising DataLab funding leveraged by industry investment through ITF.
This workshop will be held from 0900-1300 on Tuesday 31st January at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
